What is perinatal mental health?
Perinatal mental health refers to the emotional and psychological well-being of individuals during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Therapy can address the unique stressors and emotions that can arise during this period, ranging from identity shifts, grief and loss, and mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, and OCD. I completed a certification in the national training in Perinatal Mental Health by the Postpartum Support International (PSI).
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network psychologist. I am happy to provide a “superbill,” which serves as a record of the services I have provided and the payment I have received. This can often help you get 50-100% of this fee reimbursed by using out-of-network benefits.
How do I know if my insurance will reimburse me?
It is helpful to call your insurance provider to determine coverage. Some helpful questions to ask are:
Does my insurance plan cover out-of-network mental health services?
What is the reimbursement rate for out-of-network providers? (e.g., a percentage of the fee or a specific dollar amount)
What is my out-of-network deductible?
Will I be reimbursed for additional fees, such as intake or no-show fees?
How do I submit claims for out-of-network mental health services?
